What is Vocational Training

Vocational education is education where participant learn industry oriented skills which can help them to start their career or their own business. It seem that Indian education system is merely focus only on theoretical knowledge rather than practical aspect. Indian students are not able to cover the industry gap. Survey shows that 80 % the graduate are not able to work in industry after pass out from their stream. They required training to start their work but industry don't like to spend much time on this matter, Industry want finish good not raw material.

Vocational training in India is provided on a full-time as well as part-time basis. Full-time programs are generally offered through I.T.I.s Industrial training institutes. Part-time programs are offered through state technical education boards or universities who also offer full-time courses. NSDC, a govt. of India organization is also taking initiative in vocational training in different area through sector skill council. Vocational education can be at the secondary, post-secondary level, further education, and higher education level and can interact with the apprenticeship system.
